“Parking was already limited, and illegal no-parking signs placed by some residents trying to reserve the street spaces in front of their homes made the situation even worse, said Kal Kassir, chairman of the Bayfront Advisory Committee.”

If you want to open up the bay front parking for visitors then the city must have a plan for the mass of people that urinate in the bay, park in front of fire hydrants, leave poop on our lawns, leave chicken parts all over the beach and grassy areas etc. Additionally, if there is a fire or other medical emergency first responders would be inhibited from doing their job. There is no handicap access to get to these beaches either. We need a public forum to allow the hundreds of homeowners in this area that pay a large amount of property tax to voice their concerns and come up with a plan. People park all over this area and destroy the community which we preserve. We NEVER see police patrolling this area during peak times ensuring proper access to fire hydrants etc. Cars routinely inhibit the postal carrier from doing their job. There is a lot more to this than pulling no parking signs for the masses.
